SEIZE THE DAY

  Today morning  Meekha mam took class since other teachers were busy with camp work. The remaining seminar session was conducted, Sister Lighty and Devika chechi engagingly handled the session..In between the break time Aparna chechi. officially invited us to attend her wedding which falls the coming month. After lunch too we had optional class, in between our break inspecting team came and the phonetic lab session was conducted for them since this was new for them.  Thus the day ended...

First hour was optional. Maam gave notes on Micro teaching, explained about lesson plan that we need to prepare in future. Next hour principal sir continued yesterday's portion. Sir initially gave some ideas about how to prepare notes, how to jot down points in a way that helps us to perform better academically. The suggestion to keep a five subject notebook to lessen our load and the idea to mark important questions using colour code like using red ink for most important and frequently asked questions, blue ink for occasionally asked ones and green for rarely asked ones etc were the tips to make us score more than 90% which is the goal sir is aiming at. This inspiring and beneficial tips were given by Sir before getting into the days session.Moving to the class, the second skill stimulus variation was taught. Tuesday morning, when entered class almost all were absent since it was KSRTC strike lot of my classmates were absent for the day.We all didn't had the mood to study the almost void classroom atmosphere drained the energy within us)Ancy mam continued her class little more on the topic communication was taught.  Maya mam came next, mam started off with sharing her experiences of COVID 19. Mam had undergone it her intention of sharing the story was to motivate us to not be scared as well as to be cautious of our hygiene and health.Mam finished off Realism today. After the class went to canteen to take a break.  Principal sir took the next hour. Sir continued his discussion on the Early steps in Teaching and Pedagogy.The three main dimensions that is behaviourism, constructivism and cognitivism were discussed.  Happily headed to college as it is Friday. Maya mam took the first hour. She continued with the topic realism, aims of education, etc. She also explained about Harmony. The next hour was taken by Archana Mam. She discussed about the Gesalt school of psychology, behaviorist psychology, humanistic and cognitive psychology. Principal took the next hour. He discussed about the tripolar concept of education. Then he mentioned about stake holder. After that he drew a picture to explain CAP- Childhood Adulthood Parenthood. Sir then made us sit according to our birth position- first born, middle born, and last born. I belong to the last born. Sir asked us to write the advantages and disadvantages of each. Then three students from each group presented the topic well. Afternoon hour was taken by Joju sir. He dealt with the Dale's cone of experience. Then we had the physical education hour. We left the college after enjoying some snacks from the canteen.

First hour was taken by Maya maam. She came in and started the topic in process ie, Realism. Aims of Education, how realism educate us, it prepare us for life, helps in discovering truth through scientific method etc were dealt.Concept "Harmony" that is harmony with real life real life experiences these deal with the idea of realism. Ma'am asked to think about the small things that gives us happiness. Being a person who never prefer extravagance in life I could connect easily. Doing great things may not necessarily bring happiness, but giving a smile or any small help these do bring happiness, a sense of joy within us. Life's meaning is within these small actions we do that bring about a pleasant aroma in us. After that Archana miss came she continued the schools of psychology.  The day started with our very first morning assembly conducted by M.Ed students. It was very nostalgic. I was reminiscing about my school days. Campus news was very comical. Principal gave us a great message too. During the optional hour we did our group activity and then we all decorated our classroom. Next hour Principal introduced Reju Sir. He was our new Arts and Aesthetics teacher. He shared few information and made us do some activities too related to voice modulations. The class was thundering. Giby Mam's class followed. She after asking questions taught about the variables of learning experience. Maya Mam started the class in a different way. She asked us to sing a song related to nature. Some friends came forward and sang and danced beautifully. The next hour was taken by Ancy Mam. She continued with Kohlberg's theory of moral development. Joju sir took the last hour. It was our first assembly today. 1st year M. Ed batch were the in-charge. Back to school memories ya! The lost days were flashing in. With pledge assembly started followed by news and thought for the day.Campus news was the highlight how they structured the title news and it's content was so innovative and funny. A book too was published for the college lead by Regu sir and Ancy mam. With Principal sir and Regu sir informative speech, function ended. We sang the college. anthem and then national anthem and headed back to class. Yesterday group activity continued and then we all started to decorate our classroom. Together all of us put our efforts and ideas into making best. Next hour principal sir along with another sir came in. Sir introduced our new Arts and Aesthetic teacher.  The day started with prayer. Then our respected principal inaugurated the Phonetics Open Lab near our classroom in the presence of teachers and students. Gayathri introduced two words with their phonetic description. Ancy Mam took the first hour. She stepped into a new theory- Kohlberg's Theory of Moral Development. Joju sir took the second hour. He dealt with the topic Educational Technology. Educational Technology is a system of 5 M's - Men, Method, Material, Media, Machine. Maya Mam's hour followed.. She taught us the Aims of Education. Then we had our optional period. Meekha Mam gave us seminar topics and then we discussed about cleaning our classroom and the hour ended. After lunch too we had our optional class. Group discussions were held during that time.  Then we went to Giby Mam's class where a funny incident took place. Mam was little bit late. So we gave her a small punishment - to dance.  Monday morning is something which I hate the most. With utmost laziness headed to Giby Mam's class. We were all shocked because Mam was about to ask questions. Social science batch came late as they were practicing. So Mam asked questions to them and then continued the class. Maya Mam took the second hour. She asked us to sanitize our hands and drink water. After that she continued with the topic Naturalism. She also showed us two beautiful videos related to agriculture and evolution. Then we went to library,searched and searched for books and rushed to the reading room. Today was the conclusion of our talent hunt. Both Malayalam and Social Science rocked on the stage. It was outstanding..

  Today is our talent hunt. With great enthusiasm headed to college.I was a bit late so I couldn't practice in the morning while all my friends did. By 9:30 there was an announcement that someone from outside is going to take a motivational session. With wonder filled thoughts headed to general classroom.Sir entered, he introduced himself as 9. V Hari who was a former student of Mttc) He by profession is a teacher who also does motivational speeches.The very first presence of Sir itself energised us to be attentive. UTL (Understanding Teaching Learning) ya that was the session all about. The way of motivating us to be a better teacher or I would say a better human being was done in a unique way which was new to me. The trick of using a tambourine to catch our attention itself showed how efficient sir was. The song in between surely kept our focus much more in with class.  Today I was so happy to go to college because my mother too came with me for the PTA. Dr. Prasad Sir former VC, SCERT director and member of NCTE inaugurated the 65the batch of Mar Theophilus Training College.After the speech of the guest,Principal and Joju sir, we were given tea and cake. Then we had the class of Ancy Mam. After that we went to see the program of our seniors, M.Ed students .It was very interesting as they included many variety programs. Everything were worth watching. We all enjoyed a lot.

The first hour was taken by Joju Sir. Sir came to discuss about tomorrow's function. After that sir gave some notes on technology and teaching. New technology representatives were also selected. Priyanka from our class was selected.  Ancy mam came next she taught us more on child psychology. Maya miss came since new students came she made them introduce. After which we studied more on philosophy. Optional period was given by mam to practice for our talent hunt. In the Afternoon class Anusha chechi took seminar. A few of us was called to help in some arrangements for psychology lab after which we headed for Giby miss class. Last hour which was arts we again practiced for talent hunt.

As usual the day began with prayer. Giby Mam took the first hour. She revised the early topics and then told us about the glass of expectations. We shouldn't expect anything from others. Expectations always lead to disappointment. Next hour Maya Mam taught us about idealism and mentioned about the NCTE visit to our college. Next two hours were optional classes. We submitted our first assignment today.  Afternoon session were special today. Our respected principal Dr. K Y Benedict Sir took the classes. He explained various aspects regarding the generation. It was a pleasure to be in his class. It was very interesting. Last hour was taken by Joju Sir. Panel discussion took place. There were six students representing each optionals. Four of them presented their topics well. The remaining two will be conducted tomorrow. There ended the day.....

First two hours were taken by Maya Mam and Ancy Mam respectively. Maya Mam told us abour the importance of friendship. Ancy Mam asked us to write a feedback. Then we had our first holy mass. During that time we practiced for our talent hunt program. After that we had our optional classes. Gayathri took the seminar. She presented very well. After that we continued our practice. At the end of the day we were all exhausted.

 As it is thursday after the prayer we had the yoga session. Today we learned vajrasana and sir explained about the benefits of it. Yoga classes ended with shavasana. Next hour Maya Mam taught about axiology. Then she made us do an activity to identify the animal which represent our personality. I got 270 points representing lion. Then the third hour was taken by Ancy Mam. She taught us the stages of development. Then we went to our optional classes. Today Aparna took seminar on linguistics. The next hour was library. After that Joju sir conducted the panel discussion. The remaining four students presented their topic well. Then some students too added their points. After that we went to our optional class to practice for the talent hunt.   And so a good day ended...

As usual our day started with the prayer. After that we headed to our general class. Everyone was busy preparing for the test paper but Ancy Mam didnt put the test because she came to know from our seniors that we were all seriously studying. Mam taught us Erickson's Theory of Development. Then, unexpectedly,we got the chance to watch the arts and aesthetics program conducted by our seniors. It was mesmerizing.   After that Maya Mam taught us philosophy. Then Principal introduced new Mam in our optional class. Last hour was taken by Joju Sir. He taught us the college Anthem and he shared with us two inspirational stories, which were truly inspiring..

  The day started with a wonderful session with Joby Kondoor Sir on the topic "Reflective Self-Disvovery". He taught us many life lessons and made us do some activities too, which made the class very lively. Afternoon sessions were handled by Dr.Maya Mam and  Dr.Joju Sir respectively. The lovely day ended with a very nostalgic game Lion And Lamb.....❤
